Photos of Florence, Joe Wheeler, Ditto, Goose Pond and Cedar Creek on the Tennessee River

Melinda B passing under a highway bridge

Gorgeous rock walls

Pumpkin drop in Florence. It took three men to lift it onto the crane.
Notice the splattered pumpkin below.

Now they will drop it!
They dropped three pumpkins.

Our boats had a good time without us.

Entrance to Florence Marina

Entering a very tall lock, going up

Turbulence where the water comes in rapidly

At the top of the lock. This shows a wicket gate that lowers for us to go over.

More gorgeous scenery on the Tennessee River

The gorge

Our charts show many sunken bridges below the water.
You can see by the darker blue lines where the old river was
before they built the dam and flooded the area.

Dam to the right of the lock

Lots of Great Blue Herons, about 2 feet tall
