On the River Again, October 14, 2015
We are excited to be getting on our way again after six great
days in Chattanooga. If you’re in this area, you should see the city. Just walk
around it if that’s all you have time for. It’s clean and vibrant and full of
outside art. We have been very impressed.
Yesterday we visited the Tennessee Aquarium. There are two
buildings - the River and the Oceans - each holding a tank that’s about 4
stories tall with windows so you can see what’s going on in each of the various
layers of the water. Fish, turtles, frogs, alligators, sharks, jellyfish and
even butterflies on the top floor of the Ocean building. We spent most of our
time in the River building because that’s what we’ve been exploring ourselves.
I got up early to start stowing things away. When we’re in
port for several days, things come out but don’t get put away, but when we’re
traveling, we keep everything neat and tidy. We’ve got groceries and clean
laundry on board that should last at least two weeks.
On Saturday Brian travels to Chicago (on a plane) from
Huntsville. Pearl, Sofie and I will be at a marina near Huntsville until he
gets back, plus our traveling companions on the Melinda B will be with me, too.
The day is brightening (at 7:30 a.m.!) so we can leave any
time. No fog either, thank goodness. After about an hour of traveling, we’ll be
back in the Central time zone.
